In 2011 Sera James Irvine was project leader for creative residencies for five artists hosted by Prof Steve Redpath at the Aberdeen Centre for Environmental Sustainability (ACES), University of Aberdeen (UoA) to explore ‘Conflicts in Conservation’.

The residencies culminated at the ACES international conference held in Aberdeen in August 2011.
